President Nicușor Dan said on Thursday that the country needs “a clear strategy at the Black Sea” and “a foreign and dynamic, active, personality policy”, in the context of elaborating the new defense strategy of the country.

The statements of the leader from Cotroceni were transmitted on the occasion of the New Strategy Center Gala, organized 10 years after the establishment of the think tank. The message of the president was presented by the presidential adviser Luminița Odobescu, during the event, according to the Presidential Administration.

“Romania needs a clear strategy at the Black Sea, a foreign and active, active, personality policy,” the president said, stressing that these directions will be included in the new defense strategy of the country, which he will present to the Parliament this year.

Nicușor Dan stressed that Romania must strengthen its strategic role in the Black Sea region and maintain the attention of the international community on the region.

“Together with the institutions of the Romanian state, with our NATO and EU partners, we still have a lot to do to maintain our region, to better anticipate the risks and to increase resilience in the face of multiple threats, be they military or hybrid.

This is the context in which the new defense strategy of the country will be elaborated, which I will present this year to the Parliament, according to the constitutional duties.
