In Krasnoyarsk, the police detained a courier who helped fraudsters abduct more than 5 million rubles among the elderly. This was told in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

In June, the duty unit received a statement from an elderly married couple, who said that the day before they received a call from a supposedly law enforcement officer. The attacker said that they became a victim of scammers and convinced the gullible Krasnoyarsk people that to protect it, it was necessary to “declare” all the money available and transfer it to the courier to accommodate in a “safe score”.

The caller assured that “for 48 hours everything will be returned, and thanks to their help, the attackers will be caught.” Krasnoyarsk residents transferred 1 million rubles to the arrived courier. But after a while they realized that they were victims of scammers.

“Employees of the criminal investigation department of the regional head, together with colleagues from the police of Krasnoyarsk, detained a 20-year-old courier of scammers. It turned out that it was involved in a total of 5 similar thefts in the regional center, the total damage amounted to almost 5.3 million rubles, ”the regional police said.

The detainee admitted that he transferred the money received from citizens to the accounts indicated by the “employer”, leaving himself from 5 to 25 thousand rubles. A criminal case of fraud was opened on this fact, now the courier is in custody.
