The head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas during a meeting on Wednesday with the Chinese Foreign Minister Wangu Yi called Beijing to balance trade relations with the EU – the European Commission said.

Kallas also warned that the support of Chinese companies for the Russian war against Ukraine is a serious threat to Europe's security. She appealed for immediate cessation of providing materials that support the Russian war machine, and the support of the full, unconditional suspension of weapons and a fair peace in accordance with the United Nations card.

She also called China until the end of practices disturbing competition, including restrictions in the export of rare lands, which bring a serious risk to European companies and threaten the stability of global supply chains – the EU was transferred in a statement.

On Tuesday, the European Union and China conducted the 13th round of the so -called Strategic dialogue. The meeting was aimed at preparing the land for the top of the leaders planned for July.

Among the topics raised was the situation in the Middle East. Both sides were satisfied with signs of de -escalation between Iran and Israel.

Kallas emphasized the importance of the Treaty on Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency (Maea). She also called for immediate suspension of weapons in the Gaza Strip, releasing hostages and providing humanitarian aid.

In the case of Taiwan, the EU confirmed her support for the policy of “one China”, while expressing opposition to any unilateral attempts to change status quo, especially using force or coercion.

Kallas also raised the issues of compliance with human rights in China and hybrid threats for Europe, from Beijing.
