“The exploration probe 1 Spineni, drilled up to a depth of approximately 4,800 meters, confirmed the presence of natural gas and condensate, the results being supported by the production tests”, It is shown in a press release of the company.
The test tests that made the discovery indicate a production potential of 180,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 25 cubic meters of condensate, with a total of 1,300 bep/day.
The prospectus was identified on the basis of the data obtained from the 3D Spineni seismic study, carried out in 2022 in the X Craiova perimeter, according to the quoted source.
“In 2025, we intend to invest 5.8 billion lei in exploration and production, almost half of this amount being allocated to onshore operations – in parallel with the advance of Neptun Deep Offshore, a strategic project that involves significant investments. We continue to invest to counterbalance the natural decline of production from mature deposits and to explore new opportunities in the vicinity of the areas where we already have operations“Said Cristian Hubati, a member of the OMV Petrom directorate, responsible for exploration and production.
The tests have confirmed that the discovery is commercial, the next step is the approval of the development plan. For this onshore project, OMV Petrom announces that it has invested about 15 million euros in the exploration phase.
OMV Petrom has an annual oil and gas production production of approximately 40 million BEP in 2024. It has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tonnes annually and operates a 860 MW high -efficiency power plant.
The group is present in Romania and in the neighboring countries through approximately 780 gas stations, under two brands – OMV and Petrom.
