Hamas announced “national consultations” on the proposal of armistice in the Gaza strip

The Palestinian militant organization Hamas announced on Wednesday that he is discussing the proposals received from mediators about a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, after US President Donald Trump said Israel holds a 60 -day armistice in the enchantment devastated by the war, AFP reports.
Almost 21 months of war created a serious humanitarian situation for the more than two million people in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has recently expanded military operations against Hamas militants.
The Local Civil Defense Agency said that Israeli forces killed at least 33 people on Wednesday.
Trump urged Hamas on Tuesday to accept a 60 -day armistice, saying that Israel agreed to conclude such an agreement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas announced that he is “conducting national consultations to discuss” the proposals sent by mediators.
The organization claims that it wants to “reach an agreement that guarantees the cessation of aggression, the withdrawal (the Israeli forces of Gaza) and the urgent help of our people from the Gaza strip.”
Donald Trump is about to receive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House next week.
The Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said he saw “some positive signs”.
“We are serious in our desire to reach an agreement on hostages and a cessation of fire,” he said. “Our goal is to start the indirect discussions as soon as possible.”
Previously, the head of Israeli diplomacy had declared X that “no opportunity” should be missed that would lead to the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Of the 251 hostages taken by the Palestinian militants in the Gaza strip in October 2023, 49 are still held there, including 27 about the Israeli army says they are dead.
A Palestinian source familiar with negotiations told AFP that “there are no fundamental changes in the new proposal” in question, compared to the previous terms that the US had presented.
According to the source, the new proposal “includes a 60 -day armistice, during which time Hamas would release half of the living Israeli captives from the Gaza strip, in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and prisoners.”
