For the first time, the Russian was deprived of a residence permit in Lithuania because of frequent trips to the Russian Federation

The department explained that this is the first case of deprivation of a residence permit. Now Lithuanian law enforcement officers are conducting checks of another 30 Russians who often traveled to the Russian Federation or Belarus.

The department recalled that since May 2025, Russians and Belarusians who have a residence permit in Lithuania are allowed to visit their homeland a maximum of three calendar months in connection with the war in Ukraine.

Since then, according to Lithuanian law enforcement officers, 292 citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus with the right to temporary residence in Lithuania visited their countries more than once, although many of them have fallen under exceptions.
