“Romania is not the country where the fist makes the law! I talked today personally with the lady inspector from the Romanian waters in Dolj county who told me how it was abrupt, pushed, sworn by a man who had a laundry that was illegality for years and who was very upset by the control of the Romanian waters.
I wanted to make sure, first of all, that he is outside any danger. Obviously, the police will rule on the merits, but, as a minister of the environment, I cannot afford any of my colleagues to be physically assaulted, hit and insulted during a control. I have the responsibility to make sure that the employees of the ministry they run are protected and for this I will do everything for me ”wrote on Facebook, Wednesday night, Dana Buzoianu.
The minister has announced that he will take some measures, in the next period because the employees of the institutions in the coordination, under the authority or subordination of the MMAP, in control actions, can do their duty safely.
“I intend to equip, after a preliminary budget and prioritization analysis where the greatest danger, the control staff with bodycam equipment.
And in this way we can increase the degree of safety in the field; We also look at some violations of the law, which today are contraventions. Where necessary, I will propose legislative changes so that they are classified as crimes. It is unacceptable for people sent by the state to defend the public interest to become victims. Compliance with the environmental law is not optional!”, Wrote Dana Buzoianu.
