The oldest hotel in the Krasnoyarsk Territory was not allowed to return the historical name

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the oldest hotel in the region could not regain a historical name. This was told by the mayor of Minusinsk Dmitry Merkulov on his page in Odnoklassniki.

The Amyl hotel in Minusinsk was restored to the anniversary of the city. In the dThe supporting building was strengthened by the supporting structures and restored brickwork, and also reconstructed the interior. It was planned that after the repair the hotel would return the historical name – “Metropol”.

“The idea to return the hotel her native name was not even discussed – it was supported unanimously. The hotel sign was even made and equipped. However, in our age of intellectual property, they were forced to abandon this fair and correct idea so as not to violate the law. The copyright holder of the name (brand) Metropol (Moscow) categorically refused to use it in any variations, ”said Dmitry Merkulov.

The head of the city explained that the hotel will now be called Mikhailovskaya.

“Why Mikhailovskaya, you ask? And because this is the former name of Lenin Street on which the hotel is located! In pre-revolutionary Russia, in 1913 it is the year of celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty-the former Belova Street was renamed in honor of the first Russian Tsar Mikhail Romanov. And already in 1920, in Soviet Russia, it was renamed Leninskaya Street (Lenin), ”the mayor explained.

Now the hotel is installed in equipment, experts select museum exhibits that will decorate the interior of the institution. The opening of the hotel-museum is scheduled for the day of the tomato, which will be celebrated on August 16-17.

Recall that the hotel was opened in 1890 under the name Metropol. She was considered Elite – accepted gold producers. In 1920, her nationalized and renamed the “collective farmer's house”. In 1960, she was given the name “Ammyl” in honor of the taiga river in the Karatuz district.

After the reconstruction, she received a conclusion confirming the level of comfort of 3 “stars”. In Mikhailovskaya, 2 double numbers, 12 – single and one more, intended for people with mobility. The hotel equipped a recreation area and a cafe for 30 people, and in the yard they made a parking lot, a gazebo and another recreation area.
