President Donald Trump threatened on Tuesday that he would direct the Government Efficiency Department against Elon Musk, headed by a billionaire. He also did not rule out the deportation of the richest man in the world. “Doge is a monster that can come back and eat Elon,” the president told journalists in front of the White House before leaving for a detection center for immigrants Alligator Alcatraz in Florida.
This is the latest manifestation of the escalation of Trump's conflict with his once the greatest political ally. These words show how much threat the president's administration sees in Musk, who in recent days does not spare criticism at Trump and his policy.
Journalists asked the president if he was considering Musk's deportation to his family South Africa. He stated that he did not exclude such an option. “I don't know, we must consider it,” he said.
Musk referred to the words of Trump in an entry published on the website X.
“Physics perfectly reviewed all lies,” he wrote.
Then he published another post in which he stated that the heart of “the great, beautiful act” Trump was “removing finances to enforce federal court orders”.
“This is not aimed at excluding illegal immigrants from the country, but allows the president to make many other abuses of power,” Musk added. In March, he was in good relations with Trump and warned that “Tyrania of the Judiciary” undermines democracy, blocking the president's actions.
However, this is not the end. The head of X, Tesla and Spacex threatened on Monday that if Congress approves the “great beautiful act” by Trump, he would use his huge fortune and set up a new political party. He also threatened conservative legislators supporting the act. “They will lose next year's primaries, even if it is the last thing I will do on this land,” he said, adding that he would “” support the Republican Congressman Thomas Massi, the most ardent opponent of the Act. Trump, in turn, called him a “very bad man.”
Emotions reach their zenith
On Tuesday, just before 1 am, he also published a post in social media, in which he suggested that Doge – a department responsible for cutting expenses, which once gave a billionaire unprecedented power over the federal government – he should look at countless government subsidies that Muska receives.
“Elon can receive more subsidies than any other man in history. Without a subsidy, Elon would probably have to close the company and return home to South Africa,” wrote Trump.
“No more launching rockets, satellites and production of electric cars, and our country would save a fortune. Maybe we should ask Doge to look well?” – the president added.
Post seemed to be a response to Musk's entry from Monday, in which he offended the Republican party and suggested that he would create a “new political party that would really take care of people.”
A similar argument between Trump and Musk took place last month – it quickly turned into a personal exchange of blows. Until now, the billionaire refrained from criticizing the president for several weeks. When Congress accelerated work on the “great beautiful act”, he again gave off his emotions.
Musk criticized her many times, claiming that it would increase the federal deficit. Trump, in turn, claims that the dispute concerns cuts of subsidies for electric vehicles, which may hit Tesla. He added, however, that the billionaire walked on thin ice. “Elon may lose much more, I can tell you now,” he said.
In 2024, Musk broke funds for funds for the Republican Party, and before the outbreak of the conflict with Trump, he reportedly promised to transfer an additional $ 100 million. (PLN 361 million) for Trump's political activities in connection with the upcoming supplementary elections.
The US president said that he is not afraid that Republicans could bend under Musk's threats.
“I don't think he should play this game with me,” he said.
