Zoltan Szondy, the president of the newly promoted FK Csikszereda, explains in the dialogue with GSP.ro as a new rule in Hungarian football has over the Mercato plans.

Before her first superliger season, Csikszereda was seriously strengthened. No less than 7 new faces have reached the command of Robert Ilyes. On the list of newcomers we can add Janos Hegedus, who in season 2024/2025 played in Miercurea Ciuc being borrowed from Paksi.

The promptness with which Miercurens moved in Mercato is all the more impressive as The initial plans were given over the last decisions in Hungarian football.

It is about the implementation of a rule similar to the one “5+6” in Romanian football, which says that in the next competitive season, Clubs that will not use at least 5 Hungarian players, one of which U21, will not benefit from money from the federation!

President FK Csikszereda, Zoltan Szondy, says in dialogue with GSP.ro that this new rule made his mission on the transfer market.

Zoltan Szondy, about the implementation of the “5+6” rule in Hungary: “It has been a little upset, now all clubs are related to Hungarian players”

“It is not easy for us, we have the rule with domestic players. And in Hungary the regulation has been modified. Each first league team, if he wants to receive financial support from the Hungarian Football Federation, must have in the first five local players, one of which is U21.

This change of regulation, although I consider it beneficial in Romania and Hungary, has a little overthrown.

Honestly, I wanted to attract the players I formed at our Academy and sent them to Akademia Puskas or elsewhere in Hungary. But now all the clubs in Hungary belong to the players who have a Hungarian or double citizenship, Hungarian and Romanian.

That really upset us a little. We had to reorient ourselves to transfers. Now we are in the process of completing, we need an attacker, but in the rest we are ok, ”said Zoltan Szondy.

We have the lot to respect the 5+6 rule, but I do not know who will be in the first 11, here the coach decides. I really would like to respect it, I understand its logic and subscribe to this idea.

President of FK Csikszereda: “I spoke to a child in the second Hungarian league, I thought it would come glad. It wasn't!”

“When the transfer period started, We fought for 4 players trained in Romania. We were unable to sign with any! I have less and less hopes.

Last days I spoke with a very good child, formed at Miercurea Ciuc, the best junior in the second Hungarian League last year, and I thought he would be happy to come to the first Romanian league.

It turned out to be not so, that in the second Hungarian league is offered more money at some clubs. So it dropped the transfer, although I was almost 100% convinced that I will be able to bring it home.

As the transfer did not happen, I transferred from MTK Budapest a midfielder (No – on Bence Vegh). Last days I also finalized the transfer of a player considered great talent in Hungary, Szabo Balint. I also brought a very promising young man, he plays in the U21 national of Hungary, Szalay. And I transferred a veteran from Debrecen, a symbol of the club, Mr. Ferenczi.

These were the transfers. Of course, I also promoted a few children from the Academy, I also brought a very promising young man from Târgu Secuiesc (No – Szilard Balogh).

I was even surprised that for a 17 -year -old I had to fight with another club in Superligabut so far I am satisfied with this boy. He gave an empty in the first friendly and physical match is at the parameters we want ”, added the president of the Miercurean club about the Mercato moves.
