As the Daily Mail wrote, Ukrainian Konstanty Dobrowolski, after the German attack on the USSR, deserted from the Red Army and became the main informant of the Third Reich in Czernihów. He signed correspondence with the words “Heil Hitler”.

When Hitler's army began to lose on the Eastern Front, Dobrowolski was to escape the German troops to the West. However, his wife and her son Konstantine Junior escaped to Great Britain, where she got married again – for David Metrewelli, born in Georgia.

Dobrowolski's son later took the surname of stepfather and became a radiologist, a veteran of the British armed forces.
