A woman from Brăila county died after being repeatedly hit by her husband, according to a statement sent by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Braila Court.
According to prosecutors, a man called 112 and announced that his mother -in -law's sister was hit a few days ago by her husband, and at the time of the call he was dead, in his home in Scorțaru Vechi.
Following the notification, the criminal prosecution in rem. Subsequently, the criminal action against the victim's husband was set in motion.
“In fact, it was noted that, on 27/28.06.2025, between 18.00-00.56, but earlier, the DD defendant repeatedly hit the victim, with great intensity, with fists, legs and blunt objects (possible foot leg, with sharp edges) in the area of the head and the chest (vital areas), Trauma and fractures of the coasts 4-8, following the suppression of the victim's life, “traumatic injuries that have a direct causal related to its death, conditioned by the pre-existing pathological condition”, is stated in the prosecutor's office next to the Braila Court, quoted by News.ro.
The man was detained for 24 hours, and on Sunday the Braila Court admitted the request of his preventive arrest prosecutors for 30 days.
The case takes place almost two weeks after a pregnant young woman was killed with the ax in front of the house in Lipănești commune, Prahova county, and after the crime in Cosmopolis, who shocked public opinion, when Teodora, a 23 -year -old, also pregnant, was shot dead.
Over a thousand people protested in front of the government following the two crimes, to ask the authorities with firm measures to prevent gender violence.
According to a statement from the Filia Center, which struggles for women's rights, in Romania they had 25 femics in the first 5 months of the year.
And the Romanian Patriarchate has transmitted a statement in which an alarm signal is related to repeated cases of femicide lately: “The Romanian Patriarchate expresses its deep concern for these phenomena, which seriously affect the dignity of the human person and the unity of the families.”
