In Germany, they plan to increase the minimum salary and make it the second largest in the EU

The article states that the minimum German salary from the current € 12.82 should reach € 13.9 by the beginning of 2026, and by 2027 to increase to € 14.6.

According to new estimates, in two years, full -time workers in Germany will earn at least € 2.5 thousand. According to the Eurostat, only residents of Luxembourg – at least € 2.6 thousand per month receive more.

As the media noted, the minimum salary exceeding € 2 thousand per month is recorded in only three EU countries: in Belgium, the Netherlands and Ireland.

However, experts warn that an increase in the minimum salary can supplant low -skilled workers and increase the risk of unemployment in Germany. Now in the country there are almost 3 million unemployed.
