Aphid on currant is a real summer house of a summer resident that can ruin the entire crop. But there is a time -tested folk method from the “perfect garden” channel on Dzen.ru (16+), which saves bushes without chemistry and returns juicy berries.
Why does chemistry often fail? Shop products kill not only aphids, but all living things around, and the effect lasts only 5 to 7 days. Chemists disrupt the ecosystem of the garden, and God's cows that eat aphids disappear. Plus, the berries have to be collected later, so as not to be poisoned. The folk method, proven by generations, works softer, but more efficiently. Already after 2 to 3 days after processing, the aphids crumble, and the bushes come to life.
Take 200 g of sifted ash, pour 3 liters of warm water and leave for 4 hours, stirring every hour. Strain through gauze, add 50 g of grated laundry and 3 tbsp. tablespoons of mustard powder. Stir until completely dissolved. This solution must be used immediately – every other day it loses its strength. Before spraying, check it on one branch: if the leaves are whole in a day, feel free to process the entire bush.
Start with the lower branches, rising up so that the aphid does not run to clean shoots. Use a garden sprayer so that the solution lies in small drops. It takes an adult bush about a liter of solution, but do not lie too long – 5 minutes per bush. Do this in the evening, in clear weather at 15 – 25 degrees to avoid leaf burns. After 2 – 3 days, the aphid will begin to crumble, and the protective film on the leaves will last 2 to 3 weeks. After heavy rain, repeat the processing.
