The employees of the Government criticize Prime Minister Bolojan: “Discounts for those who work, privileges for those who lead”

The union of the employees in the government work apparatus criticizes the intention of the executive to reduce the amount of the increase for harmful or dangerous working conditions, saying that the cuts are made to those who work, not from the political dignitaries.
The measures that the employees from the Victoria Palace contest are: the ceiling of the increase for dangerous or harmful conditions to 300 lei gross/month (about 172 net lei) and the reduction of the additional leave in heavy conditions to only 1-3 days a year.

“These measures represent, in fact, a masked cutting of revenues and a minimization of the real risks to which employees from all budgetary areas are exposed-from medical personnel to officials, who work in toxic, unhealthy or physical and mental demands,” says in a statement of the unionists from the Government.

They reproach the Government that they invoke the state reform, but in parallel it has created new functions of public dignity, to which are added other newly established positions.

The employees of the government ask Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to withdraw the project of GEO, to resume the social dialogue and not to adopt “overnight” measures that have a salary impact.

Budgets who will be affected by the reduction of the increase
The government has elaborated a draft of an emergency ordinance that provides for the consistent limitation of the amount of the increase for dangerous or harmful conditions in the case of more categories of state employees. It is not clear, however, whether the document has been possession of Hotnews is the final GEO version that will be submitted to approval in the Government meeting tomorrow or Monday.

The draft Emergency Ordinance provides for the modification of Law 153/2017 on the salary in the public sector. Essentially, a ceiling of 300 lei gross per month is established for the amount of the increase for dangerous or harmful working conditions, depending on the number of hours worked under these conditions.
Thus, the increase for education employees is capped as well as for the sanitary employees, in cases where the granting of this increase is not explicitly mentioned for specific categories, such as those working in the environment or in neuropsychiatric hospitals.
The increase is also limited for the personnel of the culture, the members of the diplomatic and consular corps, the justice staff (both magistrates and auxiliary personnel), military personnel, police, civil servants with special status in the penitentiary administration system and civilian personnel, personnel classified in public authorities and institutions financed from their own, from the Competition Council and the Court of Accounts.
All these categories have so far received the increase in the amount of up to 15% of the basic salary, without being able to exceed 1,500 lei.
