Mushroom paradise in the country: I grow a valuable crop right on my site – this is how to do it

It is not necessary to go to the forest with a basket and hope for good luck. Now many successfully grow mushrooms right on their site. This is convenient and pleasant, as it inspires confidence in the purity and safety of the product. At the same time, the process itself brings no less joy than the result. It is only important to choose the right look and create comfortable conditions for it.

Open Rights Epiphany for beginners

This type of mushroom is an ideal option for beginners. They grow quickly, almost do not get sick and take root easily. It is best to grow them on fresh stumps or a log of deciduous wood, for example, poplar or birch. Holes are made in wood, mycelium is inserted into them (sold in garden stores), tightly tamped and covered with burlap so that moisture is preserved. After two to three months, the first mushrooms appear. If you observe humidity and not overdry the stump, the crop will go in waves, sometimes for several years in a row.

Champignons: growing is more difficult, but the crop is richer

To grow champignons, compost is needed. It is made of straw, horse manure and a small amount of gypsum. The mixture is left to ripen for several weeks, periodically turning over. After that, the mycelium is added and stable humidity and temperature are supported in the range of 18–22 degrees. A month later, the mycelium begins to bear fruit. The first crop can be harvested in three to four weeks after planting. Champignons grow well in the greenhouse, basement or in the darkened part of the site.

White mushrooms: how to transfer the forest to the garden

White mushrooms are more capricious. In nature, they grow in symbiosis with the roots of certain trees: pines, oaks, birch. To grow them in your place, you need to find a healthy white mushroom in the forest, gently dig part of the soil with the mushroom and transfer it to a suitable tree on the site. Top should be sprinkled with deciduous opad, monitor humidity and not wait for quick results. Sometimes a mushroom mushroom is needed a year or two to take root. But if everything works out, white mushrooms will appear regularly.

Ready mycelium: quickly and comfortable

If you do not want to wait, there is a simpler option. You can buy ready -made mycelium in granules. It is planted in a shady place of the garden, for example, at the fence or under the bushes. The soil is slightly loosened, mixed with mycelium, watered and maintained humidity. Under correct conditions, mushrooms appear in two to three months.

A few tips for a good harvest:

1. Do not tear off all mushrooms cleanly. Leave a few to dispute and support the growth cycle.
2. The mushrooms are not pulled out with the root, but carefully twisted it so as not to damage the mycelium.
3. Water regularly, especially in the heat, and do not let the soil dry out.

Growing mushrooms is a process that gives pleasure, connection with nature and the feeling that you did something with your own hands. And certainly they are tastier than any store.
