A criminal case has been opened in the Achinsk District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in connection with the spread of an infectious disease in the Sokol health camp.
According to the prosecutor's office, on June 9, 16 students went to the medical center with complaints of poor health. One child was hospitalized with a diagnosis of intestinal infection; his condition is assessed as moderate. The remaining victims are undergoing outpatient treatment.
“The children were provided with the necessary medical care in a timely manner; at present, their lives and health are not in danger. It has been previously established that The cause of the disease was external factors not related to the organization of catering in the institution“- reported the Investigative Committee and Rospotrebnadzor.
A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers). Now law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, including the conditions of the children’s stay in the institution. Also, a set of additional sanitary and anti-epidemic measures is being carried out on the camp territory, including disinfection of premises, quartz treatment and ventilation.
“In order to prevent the spread of infection in the dormitory building where the sick children lived, a quarantine was introduced for 7 days. 87 children were placed under parental supervision,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Investigators, the prosecutor's office and Rospotrebnadzor are looking into the circumstances of the spread of an infectious disease in the Sokol camp.
Let us remind you that in 2016 there was already a mass poisoning in the Sokol camp: then 31 children and 5 adult employees were admitted to the hospital.
