What follows for Lyon, after relegation to Ligue 2

The French colossus was sent to the second football level as a result of a decision taken by DNCG, the financial control body of the football clubs in France. Lyon was experiencing this danger since November last year, when the club was announced that it is to be reached in such a situation, if it does not solve its problems.

Fast reaction from France, after Olympique Lyon was relegated »A journalist responsible for OL reveals for GSP:” It feels as if the club had died! “

Lyon has a term 7 days to attack the decision

The club will receive the DNCG decision together with a complete explanation regarding the relegation in Ligue 2. After this official notification, the president of the club must appeal to the DNCG Appeal Commission, either by e-mail or by recommended letter.

According to the regulation, in both cases, the appeal must be submitted within seven days, starting with the day following the notification. “Also, under the sanction of inadmissibility, any new document and/or commitment that the appellant wants to present must be submitted at the latest at the time of hearing before the appeal commission and be, at that time, materialized,” says LFP in its regulation, according to RMC Sport.

First reaction from Lyon

Lyon does not want to react so far and sent a short message near midnight.

“Good evening to everyone, we received your requests and we are waiting for the details from the DNCG and the reasons for their decision,” OL announced in a message sent to journalists.

Bad Gones' communication

After numerous difficulties with John Texter and despite a last desperate attempt at the beginning of the month to get a meeting with him (see the email), we are sorry to say that our fears have been confirmed

John Textor was not and will never be the right man for this function.

This Botafogo's supporter must now disappear from the Lyonese landscape.

We call on his numerous creditors to take control and teach Olympique Lyon's keys who will respect our institution and wash the numerous affronts that have been brought to them.

We call on all Olympique Lyon fans to come to his aid and tell them that they will find us with them to recover our club, our reason to live.

Texter outside!

Come on!

Gastrogones fans' message

I'm just half surprised. Two days ago I celebrated in Ain the 20th anniversary of our supporters association and we were talking about this great speech. John Textor played the book of optimism, but we do not know anything about the real financial situation of the club! What I can see today is that the sport in Lyon is in a bad situation and that, after the relegation of the female team yesterday, now it is the turn of our ol … it is very serious.

When you see how fast I went down … it's alarming. The last years of Jean-Michel Aulas have not already been bright. When Pathé and IDG wanted to sell their actions, we were facing the fact. We didn't have time to find the right buyer. To this day, I still wonder how someone could take over.

Ol will call it but can this pass? If we descend to Liga 2, it will be difficult to get up again. But we will still encourage them if that happens.

I am dismayed and worried about what will follow. Even if we go over this in three weeks, I am afraid that this club will disappear at some point. On the eve of the funeral of Bernard Lacombe, the symbolism seems terrible to me.

Reims could take advantage of OL acorns

Although the OL will appeal against this decision (has seven days to do this) and will still have appeals if its relegation will be confirmed in the second court, its misfortunes could take advantage of another renowned French club.

In accordance with Article 520 of the LFP regulation on sports competitions, “If a qualified club for the next season in Ligue 1 renounces its place or does not meet the participation criteria, or refused to enter by the decision of DNCG or any other body, especially of a disciplinary body”, then the “Perdant club in the play-off is released”, provided that it is not to be subjected to it.
