Sikorski also commented on the recent successful strikes by Ukraine against Russian targets, stating that Polish operations could be even more effective. “If Ukrainians managed to destroy half of Russia’s oil refining capacity within six months, we could accomplish that in six weeks, and then eliminate the remaining half,” he claimed.
The remarks sparked a reaction from Maria Zakharova, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, who labeled Sikorski’s comments as an example of “Russo-phobia.” In a post on Telegram, she quoted Sikorski, stating, “If Russia attacked Poland, we would achieve victory very quickly,” before criticizing his perspective.
