The European Commission is to propose on July 2 the atmospheric goal at 2040. This will be a transitional goal on the road to the community of climate neutrality in 2050.

“France wants to talk about this topic. He wants to show the chairman of the EC Ursula von der Leyen that some leaders are not satisfied with the next purpose that they are resisting,” said the EU source.

There is no point regarding climate policy in the summit schedule. However, this case may be discussed in a block of competitiveness.

Including in the conclusions from the summit of any provision undermining the sense of the target at 2040 requires the consent of 27 leaders of states. There is no chance because many EU capitals still support the European green order.

However, the discussion at the top can lead to “softening” von der Leyen.

A solution is already discussed today to allow Member States to include the so -called green projects implemented in poorer third countries.

Such “outsourcing” is to facilitate the achievement of the goal for 2040, which can be – according to reports – 90 percent. This means that the amount of carbon dioxide issued by the community in 2040 will have to be 90 percent. less compared to the 1990 level.
