Life after public money

Another mayor, this time of Buzau, Constantin Toma, has firmly announced that he closes the public money tap for professional sport. Finally, a praise gesture, if they didn't come late, as they say, even pleonastic. After leaking into the stone dried and in many accounts of foreigners so many millions of lei for nothing.
It is not just about the football team, but about all the others. The women's handball team came out of the game first, even during the competition. And football disappears because, ready!
But interesting is something else. How the hell did this Gloria Buzău – see Lord, of private law -, since now, without the resources of the City Hall, die? Where is the private supporting? How much of the budget was provided by the mayor, 70%, 80%, 90%?
For years, everyone has been in the Star. And rightly so. He is a public money from the Ministry of Defense without any objective, without any purpose. It is caught as in a trap of time lost, in the “aquarium” that is Liga 2, without exit to the “sea”.
But at Dinamo how is it? That, Na, now CS Dinamo has reached the 2nd League, that is exactly where the Star is. And it's in the same situation, except that the money comes from “internal”. Yes, it is a project, to merge CS Dinamo with Dinamo in Liga 1, but who knows if the pride, interests and money will postpone it, who knows until?
Returning to Buzau, it's not the first episode. And it won't be the last one either. The editors from Pitești, Mioveni, Constanta, Focșani or other cities have announced that they are no longer willing to hold professional teams. Isn't it strange that so many clubs are at the politics of politics?! It is quite completely illegal since the financing of public money of professional sport is considered state aid and is forbidden! On paper.
How much can, percentage, mean the contribution of public money to a team, to a club, so that it can be considered private law? Is there the variant of representation contracts, but how far can you go? Not even the Competition Council reacts. It seems only another inert forum, waiting to intervene who knows what “deities” with “diktate” in Brussels, to stop this bleeding from the public pocket.
There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of professional clubs or teams, which, hidden under more or less fictitious associations with various apartment companies or SRL of town halls or county councils, are given private law. But if “water” is cut from public money, ready, die like fish on land! That is, so many black holes in which billions disappear from the national or local budget.
A huge sieve, which can no longer be spent. The debts to budgets, taxes and taxes are also huge. Made by the same clubs or teams that stand on public money. The recently published case from Chindia, who lives from the public money, but did not pay the rent for any match played on the City Hall stadium, for almost two years, is just a piece from the top of an growing iceberg. And it will hit us hard.
We are still hunting as an atomic threat to the slogan that “if the state no longer gives money, the Romanian sport dies!”. Fully false! Of course, this kind of apocalyptic propaganda is preached by the “tunnels” of this system. It is not mandatory to do professional sports, you can make an amateur, at least until you develop and have the resources to go above.
Yes, we will have fewer teams in the first levels, maybe in European competitions, but at least all will fight on a peer, private with private, not with the Romanian state. Which will escape a huge burden. Whether it is a ministry, town hall or a county council.
Who gets to do this, to break customs, financial routes, tax havens in which the Romanian sport leaders are switched on? That football is just a part of this disaster that begins to feel more and more acute!
Develop academies! There the state can even and must intervene, help, finance. Growing children, future champions, well, clean, without influences, interests and bribes! And in a few years, we can restore the “deficit” of professional sport.
But for good, honest! Those who always enjoy all the indulgences of the system, on various levels, to put the bone to work! It's hard to get the ground after you have been accustomed to VIP for so long, on numberless money. You have no one, but you have everyone!
Austerity measures are announced, increasingly difficult years. We must, again, tighten the belt! We, the ones who have financed and finance these black holes. There are hundreds, thousands, in sports, tens, hundreds of thousands in all that Romania means. What do you mean, without leaking through all the pores of the state, will Romania even disappear?!
