Three neurosurgeons from the Central Military Hospital “Dr. Carol Davila” Bucharest, including the Neurosurgery Section, Marian Mitrică, were placed by the DNA under judicial control for bribery, following the on Thursday by the anti -corruption prosecutors.

According to DNA, the well -known doctor Colonel Marian Mitrică, the head of the Neurosurgery Section, is accused of taking bribes, in continuous form (9 material acts).

The other two surgeons under judicial control are Vasile Alin Chirteș and Emil Popa, primary neurosurgery in the hospital.

The investigators accuse Marian Mitricic that, on August 25, 2024 and between April-May 2025, he received money between 100 lei and 1,000 lei from nine patients, in connection with the granting of medical leave, but also in relation to the recommendation regarding paraclinical investigations (MRI), medical consultations and specialized medical intervention. “Some of the medical leave prepared by the Mitrică Marian defendant would have been unjustifiably recommended for active military personnel, in order to present to the commission for the evaluation of the work capacity, aimed at retirement on their medical criteria,” says DNA.

The other doctor investigated in the file, Vasile Alin Chirteș, is accused that, between March and June 2025, he received amounts of money between 100 lei and 1,300 lei from three patients, in connection with specialized medical consultations and surgery.

Also, Emil Popa is accused that, on April 29, 2025, as a primary neurosurgery, he received the amount of 100 lei from a patient, in connection with a neurosurgical specialized consultation.
