With two young children, a bell-wheel drive and a borderless curiosity, Alina Gheorghiescu turned her family into a team of explorers. From the emotions of the first All Inclusive vacation in Antalya to snorkeling on the big coral or safari barrier in Tanzania, her family has gathered lessons, memories and tips for all parents who believe that holidays with the little ones are impossible. In this interview, Alina tells us honestly about fears, mistakes and the joy of discovering the world with the children, inspiring us to let go home and make our luggage with a light heart.

The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read a page- this is the belief of Alina Gheorghiescu, whose thirst for exploration has not stopped when she became a mother. After years of on -site documentation, assumed challenges and itineraries built around the little ones, Alina founded The Haihui family – Initially a personal travel blog, which became in 2022 a specialized travel agency on vacations for families. The present interview gives us the opportunity to understand not only how a successful holiday with children is planned, but also how, in reality, that fragile balance between the needs of parents and little ones looks when we are on leave.

Everything about mothers: What was your first journey in full formula, with children, and how did you choose the destination?

Alina Gheorghiescu, Haihai family: In May 2010, the second child came to the world and immediately after baptism, in July, I left in full formula on the first holiday in four, at an all inclusive resort in Antalya, Turkey. It was the most convenient destination at that time for a family with two young children (one of only two months and one of 18 months), because we had everything we wanted in the spring: big, beach, food, rest, shadow.

What fears did you have at first related to family trips and how did you overcome them?

ease: I must admit that 15 years ago we were very stressed about family trips. We were worried how we would handle two so young children. We somehow managed to pack the whole house and carry it after us. We were afraid that they would have nothing to eat (nonsense, wherever you go, you find shops with everything), that they will get sick (as if they could not do it), that we will not rest, we adults, on holidays with the little ones.

We could not know then that being on a family trip actually means taking care of your children as before, but away. That it is not a vacation itself, but a different experience, which you can choose to enjoy or to create additional stress reasons. Time and various experiences have led us by all our fears. We began to be more and more adventurous, to go beyond comfortable destinations such as the Romanian coast, Turkey, Bulgaria or Greece.
