We have the latest data on banking employment. The sector no longer slows down at such a pace as a few quarters ago. Today, in most banks, employment persists at a relatively stable level, and some employees are relocated to other companies in groups.

According to the KNF data, at the end of April 2025, 146,884 people worked in the banking industry, i.e. one thousand more than in the same period last year. This is a symbolic growth, but also an important change in the trend – in recent years the sector has reduced employment of several thousand jobs a year.
Because KNF provides data collectively, we decided to check, the AK looks like numbers in individual banks. 12 universal institutions shared their data with us, which together employ 85.7 thousand. people. These are data for the banks themselves, not counting capital groups that include other entities (e.g. leasing companies, etc.).
Data on employment was also provided to us by the BPS cooperative association – at the end of March it employed 16,000. people.

In the KNF data you can see an interesting employment trend. At 146 thousand people employed in the industry as many as 91 thousand He works in headquarters. Meanwhile, the proportions were the opposite a decade before a decade. More people worked in the network of facilities than in the headquarters. Currently, banks are eliminating less profitable branches, because more and more people are using electronic channels. Their format is also changing – from traditional “box office windows” they evolve into meeting points with advisers.
