The presidents of the 10 largest companies controlled by the State Treasury earned a total of PLN 7.8 million in their companies last year – calculated “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” based on the reports of annual listed companies. Of this, the President of PKO Bishop Szymon Mider (PLN 1.2 million for almost 11 months of work) received the most, and the President of Orlen Ireneusz Fąfara (132,000 per month for almost eight months of work) earned the most monthly).
Their predecessors from the time of the rule of Law and Justice, who were released after the takeover of power by the government of Donald Tusk, received more than half more: PLN 12.8 million.
“Why did the old people earn more? There are two reasons. First: the outgoing ones received severance pay and remuneration for a ban on competition. The second reason: the new ones received bare salaries. The first payments of bonuses, which can even double the final amount of earnings, will only this year” – explains the daily.
Chimney Act and the circudish laws
As the newspaper noted, the 2016 chimney act says that the pay for the presidents of the largest companies with the participation of the Treasury may be a maximum of 15 times the average salary in the enterprise sector. On the other hand, the circudishing laws indicate every year that the average from the last quarter of 2016 should be taken into account, which was 4.4 thousand. zloty. Except that the largest companies omitted the provision from the circudishing law.
“The problem is that … nothing has changed. The largest still do not pay attention to the circudish law,” notes “DGP”.
