The Operation of Israel against Iran “will not end without destroying the nuclear facility in the fort,” the Tzachi Hanegbi national security counselor promised on Tuesday, in an interview with Channel 12, according to The Times of Israel.

The nuclear site of the forto (fortow), buried 90 meters below the ground, houses thousands of centrifuge for the enrichment of the uranium. The conventional ammunition of Israel cannot reach such a depth, and to destroy the installation in the air would need US intervention.

“I do not know if the US will join,” Hanegbi said, adding that Israel has continuous discussions with Washington, but that he does not try to convince him to participate.

“The plan is blue and white, including all the elements of the offensive,” he added, referring to the colors of the Israeli flag.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains an “intimate dialog” with US President Donald Trump, Hanegbi said, adding that Israel knew there was no guarantee of American involvement when he decided to continue the operation.

Regarding attempts to reach an agreement on the hostages in the Gaza Strip, Hanegbi said that no progress has been made, because the Palestinian militant group has not responded to the latest offer submitted by Israel.

According to the White House, Trump is now meeting in Washington with his national security team to discuss the possibility of the US to join Israeli attacks on the Iranian nuclear program.

President Donald Trump analyzes a possible critical decision on the war between Israel and Iran: if to get more directly involved, helping Israel to destroy the nuclear enrichment installation from Forddo, deeply buried, to which only the largest “anti-good” bomb, launched by the American Bombardie. York Times (NYT).

Experts claim that there is only one weapon for this task. It is called Massive Ordnance penetrating, or GBU-57, and weighs so much-13,600 kilograms-that it can only be transported by a B-2 bomber.

Israel has neither the weapon nor the bomber needed to lift and bring it over the target.

If Trump refrains from pursuing this target, it could mean that the main objective of Israel in this war will never be completed.

“Fordo has always been at the center of this operation,” Brett McGurk explained, which worked on issues related to the Middle East for four successive American presidents from George W. Bush to Joe Biden.

“If this ends with the forto still enriching (uranium), then it is not a strategic gain,” he warned.

US exercises have led to the conclusion that a single bomb would not solve the problem. In fact, any attack on the fort should take place in waves, with B-2 aircraft launching a bomb after another in the same hole. And the operation should be performed by an American pilot and crew.

There could be other alternatives to bombardment, although they are not safe. There could be other alternatives to bombardment, although they are not safe.
