Criminal in Russian series, sentenced to the second sentence with life imprisonment. What brought him a new sentence
Vladimir Mirgorod, a Russian serial killer, was convicted for the second time to life imprisonment, after the authorities discovered that the number of victims was double what was initially known.

The criminal was found guilty of killing 16 people, attempted murder and rape. The decision was pronounced by the Golinski District Court in Moscow, according to the Russian Kommersant.
In 2012, he had already been sentenced to life imprisonment for 16 other crimes. He was punishing his punishment in a colony with a special regime when, in 2020, a DNA match involved in an unresolved case of previous years.
Transferred to Moscow for the investigation, Vladimir Mirgorod recognized another 16 crimes, committed between 2000 and 2004, in the northern neighborhoods of the Russian capital. The victims – 15 women and a man – were between 15 and 48 years old. In some cases, he approached the victims by offering them transport services, and later attacked them in isolated places.
A woman managed to escape alive and was essential in identifying the aggressor, recognizing him from a photo and giving authorities details about the attack. The operating mode described matches the existing information about Mirgorod.
This discovery reappears fears about Russian serial criminals, in a context in which it recently revealed that Mihail Popkov, nicknamed “The maniac in employers”confessed a new crime committed in 2011.
