The last dedicated road before the holidays. GDDKiA announces

The next openings are planned only in the third quarter, when the road network in Poland is extended by nearly 98 kilometers – including in the Pomeranian, Podlasie, Lesser Poland and Świętokrzyskie voivodships, as the wnp.pl portal writes.
GDDKiA points out that road investments are not intentionally planned for holidays – the sections are given successively throughout the year. Since the beginning of last year's holidays, over 185 km of roads have been included in the traffic, including:
- two fragments of the A2 motorway east of Warsaw,
- S3 Bolków – Kamienna Góra North,
- S16 Borki Wielkie – Mrągowo,
- two episodes of S7: Miechów – Szczepanowice and Widoma – Kraków,
- and seven beltways, including in Koszalin (S6), Gryfnie (DK31), Poręba and Zawiercie (DK78) or Żodień (DK32).
The value of contracts on the basis of which these projects were implemented exceeded PLN 10.6 billion.
Nine consecutive episodes in the third quarter
Although new routes will no longer appear except for the mentioned part of OMT before the holidays, in the coming months GDDKiA plans to open as many as nine subsequent episodes:
- S1 Oświęcim – Dankowice (15.8 km),
- S3 Świnoujście – Dargobiedz (17 km), Dargobiedz – Troszyn (15.9 km),
- S6 – the second roadway of the Słupsk bypass (9.5 km),
- S61 Łomża West – Kolno, second road (15.9 km),
- DK44 – partial bypass of Oświęcim (3.5 km),
- DK66 – Bielsko Podlaski bypass (3 km),
- S74/DK9 – Opatowa beltway (10.9 km),
- DK79 – Leipzig bypass (6.4 km).
OMT – a key element of the Pomeranian road network
As the WNP.pl portal writes, a fragment of the Tri -City metropolis belting in June allows you to drive from Chwaszczyn through part of the Żukowo junction, and then through the Żuków beltway to DK20 in Glincz. Until the end of the year, drivers are also to gain the second section of OMT – from Żuków to the Gdańsk Południe junction, which will allow you to close the full 32 km route.
The new beltway will be an alternative route for the existing Tri -City beltway, connecting the S6 expressway with the southern Gdańsk bypass (S7) and a node leading to the A1 motorway.
As part of the investment, four nodes were built (Miszewo, Żukowo, Lublewo, Gdańsk Południe), two travelers' service places (Widlino), road maintenance circuit and numerous engineering facilities, including bridges and viaducts.
The total construction cost is nearly PLN 2.9 billion. From this amount, over PLN 1 billion comes from EU funds, and eligible expenditure reaches PLN 1.2 billion, as wnp.pl writes.
