On Tuesday, June 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs communicated that a third group of Romanian pilgrims safely left Israel, with the help of the Romanian Embassy at Tel Aviv and the Office of Representation of Romania in Ramallah, currently on the territory of Egypt.
Here I was taken over by a mobile consular team from the Romanian Embassy in Cairo, who accompanied him to the International Airport in Sharm El-Heikh. They are to be embarked on a special flight, operated by the Bulgarian authorities.
After the arrival in Sofia, they will be taken over by a mobile team of the Romanian Embassy in the capital of Bulgaria again, and will continue their way to Romania.
We remind you that in the last days, on June 14 and 16, two other two groups of Romanian pilgrims left Israel through Egypt.
The crisis cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was activated on the night of June 12 to 13 and works permanently, until the situation stabilizes. Absolute priority is to ensure the safety of Romanian citizens and diplomatic staff in the states affected by the conflict, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The activity of the cell is carried out on two levels:
– concrete consular assistance, on the ground, including the preparation of the evacuation and repatriation steps.
– public information, with updates on security in the region and recommendations for Romanian citizens.
