Ok 200 people participated on Sunday in a spontaneous protest in Toruń after the Thursday attack of a 19-year-old foreigner on a 24-year-old. A woman is fighting for a hospital life. The attacker was arrested and threatened with life imprisonment. The manifestors opposed immigration.

The procession moved from the monument to Nicolaus Copernicus in the Old Town Square to the place in the Glazja Park, where the woman was attacked at 1.00 at night from Wednesday to Thursday. The participants of the protest opposed immigration. The demonstration, although the participants emphasized that it was a spontaneous assembly, was attended by representatives of the right -wing environment, including National movement, as well as supporter groups.
Among the erected slogans were “God, honor and homeland”, “stop immigrant wilderness” or definitely more vulgar slogans opposing the admission of refugees and immigrants to Poland. When talking to the PAP reporter, participants emphasized that civic patrols had already been established in Toruń. Such information has also appeared in recent days on the profiles of right -wing organizations.
On Friday, the court decided to arrest a 19-year-old foreigner for three months, who attacked a woman at night from Wednesday to Thursday at the Glazja Park in Toruń. The man heard on Friday the allegation of attempted murder of a 24-year-old. The victim in a serious condition is in the hospital, has extensive injuries to many organs. The perpetrator dealt a dozen or so blows with a sharp tool in the head, neck and chest.
“19-year-old from Venezuela YomeYKERT R.-S. heard the charge of attempted murder of Klaudia K.” – said Rafał Ruta's deputy spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Toruń on Friday. The foreigner even threatens life imprisonment.
The court granted the application on Friday and applied for three months. The judge, justifying the need to apply this measure, indicated that a foreigner is threatened with severe punishment, and there is also a reasonable fear that he could hide from law enforcement agencies. He also pointed to the evidence gathered in the case, which in his opinion makes the perpetration.
The 24-year-old attack took place around 1 on Thursday. The police were alerted by a witness who heard a call for help. He ran out of the apartment, wanting to help a woman, and scared the aggressor.
The victim is fighting for a hospital life. The prosecutor's office does not provide – at the request of the family – further information about the state of health of the woman. Prosecutor Ruta told PAP on Sunday that the qualification of the act, i.e. attempted murder, did not change.
According to PAP information, the injured woman is a bartender in one of the Toruń pubs, and in the night of Wednesday to Thursday she returned home.
“In the vicinity of the Toruń Peace Square, the woman was attacked by the perpetrator. The man dealt a dozen or so blows with a knife to the head, neck and chest. The victim was saved by a witness who frightened the attacker,” said prosecutor Ruta on Friday after interrogation.
The motive of the perpetrator's action has not been established until now. There is a sexual motive among the hypotheses. “At the scene of the incident, traces and the evidence collected, which I cannot say at the moment. The sexual motive will also be taken into account,” emphasized the prosecutor.
The crime tool was secured. It's a knife.
“According to previous findings, the suspect legally came to Poland. He has been in Poland since February. Here, members of the suspect family live. He did not work in Poland. The mother of the suspect is a Venezuelka, and regarding the father we do not have findings,” Ruta explained.
The suspect refused to respond to the allegation and explanations, as well as the answer to any question of the prosecutor.
