MedLife, awarded with gold at Effie for the innovation brought by the use of medical drones in the festivals: “It is a prize that strengthens us the status of technological company”

In a country where the number of cases of sexually transmitted infections is increasing, and 1 in 2 teenagers between 16 and 18 says it has unprotected sex, a sex education campaign has managed to provide concrete solutions for this major public health problem. “Tested is hotprogram launched by Medlife together with the Golin Romania Agency, was recently recognized with gold and bronze at Effie Awards Romania 2025 – for demonstrated innovation, impact and efficiency.

The campaign “Tested E Hot” was distinguished with gold in the category Marketing Innovation and Bronze at Marketing Dyspositions in Effie Awards Romania 2025 – the most important competition in marketing. These awards reconfirm the position of MedLife as a leader in medical innovation in Romania and Eastern Europe and come to complete a series of national and international distinctions accumulated in the last year.

One of the key elements that differentiated this campaign was the use of drones for the transport of biological samples, a premiere in the region, which significantly reduced the time to wait for the results of tests for sexually transmitted infections: they are processed on the same day. Thus, technological innovation has become an integral part of a sexual education program adapted to the new generation.

Stronging need for sex education in Romania

Launched in a context in which Romania faces a significant increase in BTS cases-according to Inspin 2022 there were 57.8% more cases of syphilis compared to the previous year-the Medlife campaign has set out to reach the young public, in a relevant and accessible way.

Thus, the main objectives of the campaign were to increase the awareness of the BTS risks, to promote regular and, above all, accessible, as well as to combat shame and lack of information related to sexual health.

“Test is hot” is not just an award-winning campaign-it is an authentic sexual education, which has managed to open a necessary conversation in Romania, bringing to the fore a concrete solution for a major public health problem. Technology transforms medicine

Among the most appreciated initiatives within the “Tested E hot” campaign were a series of innovative executions, meant to bring sex education and BTS testing closer to the young public. The campaign debuted with a national study conducted on a sample of 800 young people between the ages of 16 and 35, which analyzed their behaviors and attitudes towards sexual health. In parallel, MedLife has designed special BTS analysis packages, available with discount for festivals such as Electric Castle and Summer Well.

A moment of reference was to bring, for the first time, a mobile BTS testing center at a festival in Central and Southeast Europe, thus facilitating quick and simple access for thousands of participants. Also in these events, MedLife organized confidential counseling sessions, type “type dating”, with gynecologists, urologists, psychologists and psychiatrists, as well as “hot talks” – free discussions about prevention, healthy relationships and topics still considered taboo, moderated by known influences.

In order to reduce the time to wait for the results, the company integrated in this campaign and the system of transport of biological samples with drones, which allowed the results to be communicated on the day of testing. All these initiatives were brought together in a dedicated platform, easily accessible to the general public, which concentrates the essential information on prevention, testing and sexual health.

Through all these executions, MedLife has strengthened its position as a leader in medical technology and innovation and is currently the only medical company in Romania and South-East Europe to use drones for the transport of biological samples and thus offers a modern medical experience on the real needs of the community.

Effie Awards 2025 adds a new validation level for a campaign that has already been recognized in several national and international competitions.
