At the Saturday press conference in Opole, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz referred to the international situation related to the Israeli-Iranian conflict.
– In the morning I received a report from the operational commander of General Maciej Klisz on the situation of Polish military contingents in Lebanon, Turkey, and Iraq. There is a stable situation. There were only short -term alarms, as a result of which our soldiers had to stay in the shelter. It took place in Lebanon, on the Israeli-Library border and in Iraq, when it was mutual shelling or the use of drones, ballistic missiles between Iran and Israel-said the minister.
The deputy prime minister emphasized that the situation is monitored all the time, among others Polish special services. – We have no information about the direct threat to our countrymen. I am asking for following the messages of local authorities and reading messages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I confirm the readiness of the army if it would be needed to use aircraft. They are ready for evacuation, if necessary wherever it exists. We are here in current contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a minister who coordinates these processes – said Kosiniak – Kamysz.

The deputy prime minister announced that in the conversation he conducted on Friday with the chairman of the National Security Council of Turkey, the security advisor to President Erdogan, Security issues in the Middle East and the situation of Polish soldiers stationed as part of the Polish Military Contingent in Turkey. He assured that Poland is in constant contact with NATO structures.
– Soon, because in a week we have the NATO peak. So it will probably be one of the topics, which will definitely be raised and in the lults, but also at a plenary meeting. A response of the whole world is needed. The involvement of NATO, the European Union and the United States is needed. The greatest cooperation as possible can be the only answer to stop world conflicts. This situation raises the risk of global conflict. We have never been in such a serious situation since the end of World War II – said the Minister of the Ministry of National Defense, who at the same time noted that NATO is not involved in conflicts, which in no way concern members of this organization.
