There are more and more adopted children from, among others from Vietnam and South Africa. This is the result of foreigners' settlement in Poland – says “Rzeczpospolita”.

Tuesday's “Rzeczpospolita” informs that in Poland in PiS's times blocked adoptions of Polish children abroad – such decisions seem only in “special cases”, e.g. connecting families. The newspaper cites the data of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy regarding adoption. Informs that last year there were only nine adoption of Polish children by people inhabited abroad (as in 2020), a year earlier – to ten, in 2022 – twelve, in 2021 – seven.
“A decade earlier, in the years 2006–2016, year on year, this number remained at the level of about 300 a year. The largest was in 2008, when 383 minors were adopted abroad, the lowest in 2012 – 274 adopted. Children were most often found to Italy and the USA, as well as Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. The border ' – says “Rzeczpospolita”.
The newspaper notes that the inheritance trend began from 2017. At that time, consent for 137 foreign adoptions was issued, a year later – only 36, and in 2019 – only 22. “We will be determined to strive for children to be adopted to find parents in Poland” – reminds the statement of the then minister of family, work and social policy of Elżbieta Rafalska from 2017.
The newspaper adds that recently there has been an increase in interest in foreign adoption of children, including from Vietnam, Colombia or South Africa. “They are largely associated with the country of origin of one or both candidates for adoption. This is the result of a growing number of foreigners from around the world in Poland,” the Ministry of Family explained.
