The interim president of the PNL, Ilie Bolojan, avoided giving a direct answer when asked by reporters if he assumes the position of prime minister, on Friday, in a press conference at the Senate, but said that the future holder of the position, whatever he is, “must have some minimum conditions to be able to perform a team and also a strong team”.
“The prime minister, who will probably be designated next week, in order to perform, no matter who he is, needs a critical meal, a support in Parliament (…). The mucava, which will not solve the problems, and that's not why we need it, “said Ilie Bolojan.
The Liberal also emphasized the importance of partnerships, “because these measures mean not only the Government of Romania, it means Parliament, it means Presidency, it means the other institutions, so that you can do daily that things will change in Romania.”
“I trust the millions of Romanians working in the private sector, who take this country in the back, in the hundreds of thousands of professionals, who do their duty, that I understand in what situation we are and that they will support these measures in such a way that we can go through this difficult situation and create conditions for development in the coming years,” Ilie Bolojan continued.
Asked what he holds in place not to accept the position of prime minister, he said: “I answered this question, to a colleague of you, in the sense that no matter who is a prime minister, he must have minimal conditions to perform and also needs a strong team and a customized support, in the face of such challenges.”
