The inhabitants and entrepreneurs in Praid will benefit from 300 million lei from public money to cover the damages caused by the floods in Praid, said Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Economy, who announced the completion of the procedures necessary to allocate the amounts.
He said that 200 million lei are to repair the damages caused by the floods from Praid, and 100 million lei for tourism entrepreneurs.
“300 million lei will be available starting today, with the publication of support schemes in the Official Gazette,” said Bogdan Ivan. He said that teams of experts work the counter-meter for the safe stabilization and deviation of the Corund River Course.
The aid is valid from the date of publication in the Official Gazette of Romania and until December 31, 2025.
The repair of the damages considers a maximum of 20 companies whose activity, carried out in the territorial area, was directly affected by the floods and which fulfill the conditions stipulated in the Minister's order.
The damage must be evaluated by an evaluator authorized by the National Association of Authorized Evaluators in Romania and by an authorized accounting expert or by an expert company that is part of the body of the accounting experts and authorized accountants.
What do eligible costs represent
- the replacement value of assets that cannot be reinstated in the economic circuit
- the cost of repairing the assets affected by the floods, where this is possible;
- Losses of income due to the total or partial suspension of the activity within the radius of the administrative-territorial unit, for a maximum of six months from the occurrence of the disaster
De minimis aid scheme for tourism businesses
The de minimis aid will be granted in the form of non -reimbursable financing (Grant) and is 15% of the turnover related to 2024. The maximum number of beneficiaries is 300, and the aid will not exceed the threshold of 300,000 euros/beneficiary, in compliance with the de minimis per unique enterprise and the legal rules regarding the cumulation of minimis aid.
The eligible beneficiaries of the de minimis aid are small or medium-sized businesses affected by floods, who have the registered office or work points and carry out the activity for which they request financing on the territory of the administrative-territorial unit.

The Minister of Finance, Tanczos Barna, requested in the Government meeting on Thursday, the dismissal of the directors from Salrom and the Romanian waters, which he accused of not taking into account the recommendations of the specialists regarding the remedy of the Salina Praid, and the salinity of the Târnava Mică river has increased, Agerpres informs. A similar request made the president of CJ Harghita, who was unhappy on the way in which the works for the deviation of the Corund river was made on Wednesday.
“During the Government meeting today, we asked for the dismissal of the directories from Salrom and the Romanian waters. It is unacceptable what happened at Praid! (…) The two companies are arguing with each other, ignores the decisions of the experts, leaves tens of thousands without water and aggravates the damages caused to the environment,” the Minister of Facebook wrote.
He emphasized that irresponsibility cannot remain without consequences and those who were wrong must be held responsible.
“Therefore, I asked the Government colleagues today to take the necessary measures for the directors of the two companies to be dismissed immediately and to be appointed in their place people who can keep the situation under control. Praid will not be left alone – we will not allow anyone to endanger the safety of the inhabitants, the water supply and the natural resources of the region!”

Also, according to the quoted source, the distribution of drinking water continues in an emergency regime, with the involvement of local authorities and intervention teams especially for the elderly, children, sick, and for the other citizens through the water supply points instituted by SC Aquaserv SA with the support of the local public authorities.
