The investigation into Tuesday's shooting, in which ten people were killed, is still at the initial stage. The exact motives of the shocking crime of 21-year-old Artur A. remain unknown. However, the services managed to determine that the perpetrator of the attack was an introverted and withdrawn person, he was also passionate about computer games. He probably acted himself, he had no partner in the crime.
Everything indicates that the killer did not know his victims. The youngest was 14 years old. The exception was a shot teacher who taught a man in the past. Investigators believe that the bomber did not choose his victims, he shot randomly in the school corridors.
Attack at school in Austria. New facts in the case of a 21-year-old bomber
According to the services, the attacker entered the school building through the main entrance. He was professionally equipped, had a Glock 19 pistol and a shot shot, shooting belt, headphones, backpack with ammunition, as well as a hunting knife. He fired mainly on the second and third floor. The assassination looked carefully prepared.
According to the services, the attack lasted seven minutes. At that time, there were 350-400 students at school. The bomber tried to get to one of the classes, firing up her door.
When the services arrived, no shots were heard. The attacker committed suicide with a head shot in the school toilet. He had ammunition supplies with him that would allow him to continue the attack.

The heute daily said that Artur A. lived with his mother, older brothers and a cat in one of the districts of Graz. His mother is an Austrian, and the father with whom the woman has been separated for years is a man of Armenian origin. At a school where the attacker made an attack, Artur A. studied in a class with an information and communication profile, but-according to information collected by journalists-he was not a good student and had to repeat the year. Finally, in 2022 he left school without a final exams. In the following years he was a beneficiary of government programs for the unemployed. He participated for the last time in a training organized by the Local Labor Office last year.
The services point out that Artur A. had a weapon permission, but this document only allowed it to buy and possess it, not to carry it with him. In practice, this means that the attacker could only legally use from the shooting range from his pistol and shotgun. The daily “Kronen Zeitung” reported that he had obtained a certificate from a local psychologist allowing him to buy weapons.
Earlier, the services also informed about the discovery in the apartment of Artur A. a non -working tubular bomb and a farewell letter. “Kronen Zeitung” said that immediately before the attack, the bomber sent a video recording via the internet messenger, in which he asked for forgiveness “for what he intends to do now”, and also thanked the mother for the care he received from her. According to investigators, the woman recreated the recording 24 minutes after it was received. Although she immediately informed the police about everything, it happened a moment after the attack, and the bomber himself was already dead.
