Brian Wilson, the founder of the legendary Beach Boys band, died

The musicians paid tribute to Brian Wilson, the legendary soloist and co-founder of The Beach Boys, who died at the age of 82.

Singer and composer Bob Dylan said he spent “ANI” admiring Wilson's “genius”, while Sir Elton John described as a “true giant” who had the “greatest influence” on his compositions.

Wilson's family said he is “grieving” and “has no words” to announce his death. In their statement the reason was not specified.

Beach Boys were one of the largest American troops, whose success rivized with Beatles in the 1960s.

Born in 1942 and raised in Hawthorne, California, Wilson formed a group with his younger brothers, Carl and Dennis, his cousin Mike Love and his friend of Jardine.

They have come to sell over 100 million discs globally, according to the group's website.

The Rolling Stone Music Magazine ranked 12th in its list with “the 100 largest artists of all time”.

Wilson has launched dozens of successful singles, including the three pieces that have reached the number one in the charts: I Get Around, Help Me, Rhonda and Good Vibrations.

He was known for the use of the record studio to create unique sounds, especially on the PET Sounds album, which contributed to its reputation as a musical pioneer.

The daughter of Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, who enjoyed a renowned music career during The Beach Boys, distributed a photo with Brian Wilson on Instagram.

“His precious music will live forever as he will travel through the universe and beyond him,” she wrote. “God bless you, dear Brian.”

Mick Fleetwood, a member of Fleetwood Mac, wrote: “Anyone has a minimum of musical talent must be grateful for Brian Wilson's genius and magic! And very sad about this major world loss!”

Sean Ono Lennon, the son of the Beatles band, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono, named Wilson “Mozart American” and “a unique genius from another world.”

“Anyone who really knows me knows how grieving they are because of Brian Wilson's death,” he wrote on X.

“Not many people have influenced me as much as he is. I feel very lucky that I could meet him and spend some time with him. It was always very kind and generous.”

The guitarist of the Rolling Stones, Ronnie Wood, said that “his world is in mourning”, mentioning that Sly Stone and Wilson have died both of this week.

The executive director of the Universal Music Group, Sir Lucian Grange, named Wilson “one of the most talented singers in the history of recorded music”.

“If there was a human being who created art from inexpressible sadness, that was Brian Wilson,” wrote the musician Questlove in a long tribute to Instagram.

Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of the Monkees band, wrote about Wilson's non -passing that “his songs have shaped a generation, his harmonies changed the game, and his soul was poured into every note.”

Wilson lost his wife, Melinda, in 2024. The couple was married for 24 years and adopted the children Dakota Rose, Daria Rose, Delanie Rose, Dylan and Dash.

Wilson had two more daughters, Carnie and Wendy, from his first marriage.

The musician was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1984, according to Forbes, when doctors found evidence that the use of psychedelic drugs had potentially affected his brain.

In February 2024 it was revealed that he suffers from dementia.
