Two young Krasnoyarsk residents were given real terms for pensioners' deception (video)

In Krasnoyarsk, two 20-year-old guys were sentenced to manipulate the trust of the elderly. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

In August 2023, the student of the Krasnoyarsk College of welding technologies and energy stumbled on the Internet on an attractive announcement of highly paid work and became part of the criminal scheme. The “employer” set him the task of calling pensioners and intimidating them with stories about the misfortunes of their relatives in order to force them to transfer money.

The first victim was an 83-year-old pensioner. She was called on behalf of law enforcement officials and reported that her relative was in a serious accident. To avoid punishment, she urgently needed to transfer 110 thousand rubles. Frightened by the fate of a loved one, a woman gave all her savings to the courier who came for money.

In September 2023, the guy attracted a student to the criminal activity of his friend. Together they deceived a 82-year-old pensioner, receiving 930 thousand rubles from her according to the same scheme.

The defendants pleaded guilty and expressed remorse. They partially compensated the damage to the victims, the rest was recovered in claims.

The court found them guilty of fraud (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced them to deprivation of liberty for a term of 2.5 to 3 years with a sentence in a general regime colony. Hearing the verdict, one of the criminals burst into tears.
