“There are some recommendations from international financial institutions, even from the Commission (European Commission – no), please look at what the IMF said two or three days ago, the IMF recommendation to have a progressive tax in Romania. It is a recommendation that the World Bank and the IMF and the European Commission have. I understand that we have to stay among the last states … There are 27 states in the EU, only four have left with this type of tax, which we have, Romania, Bulgaria and Estonia. The rest, all have this progressive tax. That is, from a certain share upwards, for high incomes, so we do not want to touch the low incomes, to have an extra-taxation. This is progressive taxation. Not for people with low and medium income ”said Sorin Grindeanu, on Wednesday, at Curtea de Argeș, following a visit on the site of section 5 of the Sibiu – Pitesti highway.
He added that if this measure was implemented, VAT would no longer need.
“We could apply from January 1, to say, from an income over 12,000 lei, the impact on an application of 20% tax on which exceeds 12,000, brings us an income of about 12 billion. It takes a buffer for several months to be able to apply this progressive tax. By January 1 we can Let's talk about that solidarity feewhich, in fact, is also a progressive tax, also for those with high and very high incomes ”he said, according to Agerpres.
Related to these measures, he added that “are things that sooner or later we will apply them”.
“We will not agree, as a party, to cut the revenues for the people who have low and medium income. PSD cannot do this and will not do it! I saw all kinds of projections, let me not comment. When we reach an agreement we will communicate it. I emphasize, we will not be able to agree, for example, to put CASS to small or medium pensions, to tax more those who have low or medium income, to cut various things that do not bring a big plus to the budget.“, said Grindeanu.
He added that the PSD does not support taxation on bank transactions.
“I don't know who came up with the proposal“, Said the Social Democrat.
