Observation activities concerned guests from “Eastern Europe and outside” who could try to influence the billionaire – we read.

The investigation did not lead to any accusations and his current status is not known – wrote “WSJ”. Representatives of several agencies, including the FBI, were informed about its course.

The investigation, which was conducted before the second presidential term of Donald Trump, “emphasizes concerns about the number of foreigners in the surroundings of Musk” – emphasized the newspaper.

Musk, until recently, one of Trump's closest advisers, manages five companies, including SpaceX, cooperating with the government, and had unprecedented access to the highest representatives of the authorities.

The billionaire did not answer the request for comment in this matter. A spokeswoman for the White House redirected the requests to the Ministry of National Security and the FBI, and the representatives of the White House said that they did not know about any investigation. The FBI refused to comment.

Musk, who was the largest sponsor of the Trump election campaign, recently finished work for the White House. The billionaire headed the dog, i.e. the government performance department. Last week, there was a sharp exchange between the president and the boss of Spacex, in which Trump, among others He suggested the completion of government contracts with his companies.

“However, even when they have cooperated with each other for the last few months, there were signals testifying to the tensions around Musk's connections with foreigners,” wrote “WSJ”.

The newspaper's interlocutors reported that the presence of foreigners around Musk was so great that the staff of the assumed committee to help Trump in the elections, began to worry about those who joined him during meetings and other events.

“Thanks to his business and status of the richest man in the world, Musk has established his own relations with the heads of countries around the world, sometimes in a surprising way,” we read.

In October, “WSJ” wrote that from the end of 2022 Musk was in constant contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Due to Musk's contacts with foreigners, SpaceX lawyers advised him to apply for a higher security certificate, fearing that he would have to explain these connections or that his certificate would be completely withdrawn,” the newspaper said.

As the head of SpaceX Musk, he has a certificate that allows him to access some secrets regarding state security. Founded in 2002, SpaceX has been cooperating with national security agencies from the beginning.
