On Tuesday, in the morning of the Romanian national team with Cyprus, FRF convened a general assembly. Marco Ferri, General Manager of FIFA, participated in the General Assembly with Răzvan Burleanu, FRF president. Gino Iorgulescu, the head of the LPF, was missing from the meeting.
Adrian Mititelu, the owner of FCU Craiova, was present in the room and intervened over the speech of Răzvan Burleanu, after which a scandal of proportions broke out between Mititelu and the members present at the General Assembly.

“This time, we see ourselves in a period of national teams. It is for the first time in history when we have the opportunity as in the same summer the national teams of U21 and U19 to participate in the final tournaments. At the representative level we wanted a positive result with Austria, but we met a good team, which practiced a better game.
It is a result that forces us to work even more for the return match, but also in the coming years. The biggest mistake we can make now would be to stop the whole development process. Let's just look at the performances we have achieved until the summer of 2024.
Today we must make sure that the next generations are stronger to record better results than the current generation. It has been over 10 years since we started together a deep transformation of the Romanian Football Federation as an institution, but also of Romanian football ”, said Răzvan Burleanu.
“FRF is the only relevant federation in Romania without access to public funds, so we rely exclusively on private environment”, added the FRF president, when Adrian Mititelu intervened and interrupted.
“I am very sure that if a few years ago you ask us somewhere at almost 240 million euros, I had the surprise to see now the claims have dropped to 40 million euros and that we, here in the room, are owed to Mr. Mititelu,” Burleanu said, after which Mititelu intervened: “You are an illegal federation! I am the only legal one here! Only lies say!”
In a calm tone, Burleanu replied: “You have 2 variants, if you stay in the room you will be able to intervene at the end, and the second option is to go outside”, and later another member intervened and started quarrel with Mititelu: “You are not ashamed, do you slave us all? How to stay in the room? Did I come to you on the plantation? Crazy baths, who are you doing a slave?”.
“You will speak at the end and tell us your lies then,” Burleanu told Mititelu.
The most important thing is that this national managed to bring together Romania. We managed to change the perception of our country. 3 years ago we created our National Football Academy. Over 5,000 Romanians were educated in this structure, in over 120 courses. The federal school of coaches has been modernized. Without a doubt, what we managed to build created a projection for a better future of Romanian football.
