On December 17, 2025, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office announced the first auction for support for marine wind farms. The maximum power of sources that can get support is 4 GW, and the maximum price depends on the location of a given area in the Baltic Sea and ranges from PLN 485.71 to PLN 512.32 per MWH net.

This will be the first auction to obtain the right to cover a negative balance for electricity generated in marine wind farms from the so -called The second phase of offshore development. Projects from the first phase that are currently under construction received this right by way of an administrative decision of the regulator.
The auction is won by the one who proposes the lowest price. The subject of the auction is the right to cover a negative balance – a 25 -year differential contract, guaranteeing the manufacturer to receive the price for electricity, which he auctioned in the auction. If it receives a lower price for it on the market, the difference will be covered from the renewable energy fee collected from energy recipients.
If the winning projects have a total power below 4 GW, the difference will be issued in the next auction. The next auctions of the second phase of offshore development were scheduled for 2027, 2029 and 2031 and are to enable the creation of 4 GW, 2 GW and 2 GW of installed power, respectively.
The maximum price in the first auction will be varied and will depend on the location of the area under a given wind farm in the Baltic. The maximum price in the amount of PLN 485.71 per MWh net is to apply in auctions for designs located in six sea areas – lying on the closer edge of the part of the shoal and on the eastern part of the Słupsk school.
The price of PLN 499.33 per MWh applies to two areas in the western part of the Słupsk Ławica. The distance of these areas from the shore is 60 km.
In turn, the price of PLN 512.32 per MWh applies to five areas lying on the part of the Central Bank from the shore. The distance of these areas from the shore is 90 km. (PAP)
