The elixir of youth was discovered. Super-vitamin that reduces aging by at least three years

A group of researchers from important American study centers and hospitals have concluded that there is a vitamin that can significantly reduce the aging process. After five years of studies they realized that this vitamin can rejuvenate us for at least three years.

One of the most important themes of study in the scientific world is the aging process of the human body and the methods that can be applied for its slowing.

Throughout the millennia, several elixirs of eternal youth have been supported and applied. They all failed. Especially because they did not have a solid scientific basis. At the end of May, 2025, a group of researchers gathered in the United States identified the super-element that has a real effect on slowing down the aging process. In short, they took the first step towards the dream of many people: “youth without old age and life without death.”

The secret of eternal youth

The whole story left the observations made by genetic specialists. Specifically, they identified that the aging of cells is related to shortening telomeres. Telomeres are repetitive DNA sequences located at the heads of chromosomes, which play a crucial role in stabilizing and protecting them. These structures prevent the loss of genetic information at each cell division. However, with each cell division telomeres are shortened. When they reach a critical length, I can no longer protect the cell, and it ages and eventually dies. It is called a state of senescence.

“When telomeres become too short, cells enter senescence (a state of non -ivision) or apoptosis (programmed cell death). It is believed to either the state of cellular inactivity or the death of cells contribute to aging and age.”says David Culter, a family doctor certified at the Providence Saint John Health Center in Santa Monica, California, for Medica News Today.

In other words, protecting telomeres and slowing their shortening is the secret of slowing down the aging process. If the telomeres were not shortened or the process would be extremely slow, then we could believe in youth, almost eternal.

Super-vitamin that almost blocks aging

Based on the observation on the role of telomeres in the aging process, a multi-disciplinary team from American universities, has done a five-year study. For this study, researchers used data from the Vital database and included a representative adult sample in the United States that have received vitamin D3 supplements, Omega-3 fatty acid supplements for about five years. The subjects of the study were divided into two categories.

Those who received the real supplements and those who were subjected to the placebo effect (ie they received tablets that did not contain that supplement). All participants, men and women, were at least 50 years old, at the time of the beginning of the experiments. Throughout the studies, the subjects participated in medical evaluations and provided blood samples.

After five years, test results were published on “The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition”. The study is entitled “Vitamin D3 and Marine Omega-3 Fatty Acids Supplementation and Leukocyte LEGTH: 4 YEAR Findings from Vitamin D and Omega-3 trial randomized controlled trial”. The conclusions focus on the effect of vitamin D 3 and omega 3 fatty acids.

If omega-3 fatty acids have not been found substantial changes, vitamin D3, on the other hand, did real wonders. The researchers explored the length of telomeres in leukocytes (white cells), both among the subjects who received real supplements, but also among those who received only placebo. And vitamin D seems to have a positive impact on the length of telomeres. Among the participants who received vitamin D, a minimum shortening of telomeres was recorded in four years. In contrast, to those who received only placebo, shortening was substantial. The study indicates that slowing the shortening of telomeres with the help of vitamin D3 could mean a decrease in aging by at least three years. The medical world is impressed by the results of the study, especially in the fight against aging.

“As we already know, Vitamin D supports bones, the immune system and reduces inflammation, but this study is directly linked to telomeres, which, in turn, is related to aging and disease prevention.”the internist Yoshua Quinones also states for the same publication.

Attention to excesses

Experts say that this discovery should not, however, make people empty vitamin D 3. and this in the conditions in which, this vitamin, like any additional food, should be taken with caution at the doctor's recommendation, especially regarding the daily amount ingested.

For example, if 2000 units of vitamin D are not a danger, excessive quantities can lead to adverse effects. That is, the chase after rejuvenation can lead to problems with the kidneys.
