According to him, Syria will be fully connected to the SWIFT international “within a few weeks”. This will contribute to the development of foreign trade, reduce import costs, simplify exports, and also bring Syria a very needed foreign currency, strengthen the fight against dirty money laundering and reduce dependence on informal financial networks in cross -border trade.
“The plan is that all foreign trade should now take place through the official banking sector,” Husrije emphasized.
On May 21, the European Union decided to abolish most economic sanctions against Syria.
