On Monday afternoon, Bucharest was affected by a powerful storm, which detached the aurotrites to send, in addition to the warning from ANM, a RO-Alert message for the population.

“We recommend that you comply with the following preventive measures:

– Avoid sheltering or passing by approaching trees, pillars, advertising panels, constructions with architectural elements that can be easily dislocated, as well as the buildings under construction;

– Sist the activities carried out in open or height field;

– close the windows of housing and other construction categories;

– Do not touch the pillars or conductors of electricity fallen to the ground ”, said ISU Bucharest-Ilfov.

The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) announces that, due to torrential rains and unfavorable weather, the circulation of several tram and trolleybus lines is disturbed or completely blocked in several areas of the city.

Among the most affected areas are:

  • Calea Giulești – the accumulations of water blocked the traffic of trams on lines 11 and 44;
  • Calea Plevnei, the area of Mircea Vulcănescu station – a fallen tree on the electrical network blocked the trolleybus line 85;
  • Colentina Road, Râul Colentina area – a tree and accumulated water affected lines 21 (tram) and 66 (trolleybus);
  • The end of the Baicului line and Bd. Camil Ressu – Râmnicu Sărat Square – the water accumulations disturbed the traffic on lines 69, 19, 23 and 27.

Also, on line 95, the circulation of trolleybuses was completely interrupted for 35 minutes, between 3:10 pm and 15:45, due to a fallen tree in the Străulești area. The damage was remedied, and the trolleybuses were put back into circulation.

A serious incident also occurred under the Mihai Bravu Bridge, where a tram on line 1 remained blocked after the water infiltrated in the engine and the electrical installation. The passengers felt the smell of smoke, and inside the vehicle it was raining.

Also due to torrential rain, several flights took off for several tens of minutes.

Four of the nine aircraft waiting in the air to improve the weather conditions landed at the airports “Aurel Vlaicu” (Băneasa) and “Henri Coandă” (Otopeni) in Bucharest, and the rest are already aligned for landing.
