Jannik Sinner (23 years old, 1 ATP) qualified for the first time in the final of the Parisian tournament, after passing in the penultimate act of Novak Djokovic (38 years, 6 ATP) with 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (3). Carlos Alcaraz (22 years old, 2 ATP) will be his opponent on Sunday.

Jannik Sinner won the twentieth consecutive match in the Great Slem tournaments, the world leader defeating him in the semifinals at Roland Garros on Novak Djokovic. It was the fifth triumph in front of the Serbian in nine disputed parties, the first on the slag.

The first set was decided in the fifth game, when Sinner managed to shake the confidence of the one who triumphed 24 times in the Grand Slam tournaments. Sinner has prevailed with 6-4. The second part was much more disputed, with the Serb managing to confirm for the first time Sinner's service, when it served to close the set at 5-4, but that break was not consolidated and the Italian did 2-0, after imposing 7-5.

Novak needed the intervention of the physiotherapist before the third set, but did not give up the fight. Went with the service, but at 5-4, nOvak Djokovic had three balls to close the set, but Sinner found the winning blows when he needed and after ten minutes of fighting the Italian equalized at 5.

During the game, the Serb also had a discussion with the referee about a ball he believed in the field, a dialog in which Jannik Sinner intervened showing Novak how small the out was. Eventually, Tie-Break was reached, where Novak was wrong, and Sinner qualified in the last act without losing a set.

In Sunday's final, Jannik Sinner will meet Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard managed to the Italian the only defeat this year in the Rome final. “See you in Paris and I hope it will be another result,” Jannik told Carlos at the awards ceremony. He kept his word, and we will find out on Sunday.

For Sinner it will be the fourth great -grandfather of the career, after those at the Australian Open 2024, 2025 and the US Open 2024, while for Alcaraz will be fifth. None of them lost when he arrived in the penultimate act at the Grand Slam tournaments.

The score of the direct meetings is 7-4 in favor of the Iberian, being only the fourth time they face a match on the table, after those at UMAG 2022 (Sinner), Beijing 2024 (Alcaraz) and Rome 2025 (Alcaraz).
