“Great crack in the magician movement”. War between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. The billionaire has the heaviest guns

Last year, Elon Musk, spending almost $ 300 million. (approx. PLN 1 billion 130 million, counting at the current exchange rate), became the greatest donor of republicans. Now he has radically changed the course – he moved from the help of a republican party to attack on republican leaders.
“There is 3.5 years of presidency to Trump, but I will be here for over 40 years,” Musk wrote on X.
These words are a clear warning from the richest man in the world who, thanks to his fortune, can independently affect the result of the election.
Until recently, the Republicans hoped that Musk would invest money in their actions aimed at maintaining control over Washington. Instead, he publicly declared a war.
Musk spent Thursday on the Internet, attacking President Donald Trump for the draft Budget Act of Republicans, who according to Musk does not limit enough government expenditure.
He had already threatened to challenge the Republicans supporting the bill. On Thursday, June 5, he criticized the chairman of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson and the leader of the Senate Most of John Thune and suggested the creation of the third party [poza Republikanami i Demokratami].
“This is a huge rupture in the magician coalition,” said Matthew Bartlett, a republican strategist and a former member of the Trump administration.
– This city is historically built on the conflict between the Republicans and the Democrats. Now it looks like the fight of madmen. This is an asymmetrical situation and it seems that for the first time President Trump was defeated by a madman – he added.
Just a few weeks ago, the Republicans praised Musk for financial support in the 2024 elections. They hoped that after supervising the administration program aimed at cutting federal expenses, the billionaire would return gracefully to the private sector. Less than a week ago, Musk was at a press conference in the oval office with Trump, commemorating his time in administration as a special government employee.
However, it quickly became clear that this kind departure would not happen.
“I asked him to leave. He just went crazy!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“What a predictable failure”
Richard Hudson, who manages the election campaign of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives, told journalists on Thursday that he hopes that the dispute would “pass”. Before Trump's final break with Musk, Hudson said in a short interview on Wednesday, June 4 in the evening that Musk “is a friend and is simply wrong about this law.”
Even supporters of a hard fiscal line who supported some Musk's arguments regarding the act, they tried not to get caught up in a row. However, the billionaire seemed decisive to transform his opposition to the Act into a civil war in the party.
Strengthened the position of two Republicans from Kentucky [udostępniając ich posty na X]Congressman Thomas Massi and Senator Randa Paul, who are salt in Trump's eye [sprzeciwiają się przyjęciu ustawy budżetowej w obecnej formie].
Although Musk provided the Republicans with great financial support, it was also sometimes a problem for the Republican Party. His popularity has fallen below Trump's popularity, and his greatest political undertaking this year – elections to the Supreme Court of Wisconsin – ended in a defeat of a conservative candidate who lost almost 10 percentage points.

Elon Musk
As Muska's popularity, the Republicans began to wonder how long his relationship with Trump could survive. On Thursday, June 5, Musk finally broke up the relationship with the US president.
He issued a series of attacks against Trump, accusing him of lies. He answered “yes” to a post suggesting that the president should be subject to impeachment. He also accused him of close relations with the deceased Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of trafficking in people for sexual purposes.
– What a predictable failure. Trump is a liar and it was obvious that Elon would not be able to forever tolerate his constant lies – a person from the US President said in an interview with Politico.
“A gap will be created that you need to fill”
The concerned Republican party is now trying to determine what the effects of this row will look like for next year's complementary elections.
Already two leading members of the Trump election staff, Chris Lacivita and Tony Fabrizio, reported to cooperate with the Muska Building America's Election Committee. However, the Muska strategy consisting in burning bridges can lead to subsequent divisions.
Some Republicans say they were preparing for next year's elections without Musk's money and complain that America Pac – Super Pac [fundusz na wspieranie kampanii wyborczej] technological billionaire – he did not effectively use his funds in last year's elections to the House of Representatives.
According to data from the Federal Electoral Commission, America Pac spent $ 19.2 million last year. (approx. PLN 72 million PLN 240,000, counting at the current exchange rate) to support the candidates of the Republican Party in 18 key constituencies. Republicans won 10 of these elections.
Muska funds accounted for only 12 percent. external expenditure of Republicans in these elections. It was not even the largest amount issued by the Republican Party – the Congressional Leadership Fund, the main Super Pac associated with the Republicans in the House of Representatives, still remained.
– Elon Musk has money and if he does not intend to spend $ 100 million. (over PLN 376 million, counting at the current exchange rate) for the mid -term elections, it will be a gap that will have to be completed – said Chris Mottola, a media consultant of the Republican Party. “On the other hand, there was a question about the effectiveness of the money he spent, because he spent it as he wanted.”
Over the past few months, Musk has been considering getting involved in the mid -term elections, but he also claimed that he would withdraw from expenses for political purposes. If Musk intends to put everything on one card against the Republican Party, he will need something more than just money.
“Is there enough good republican activists who could accomplish the mission of Elon Musk, since it means fighting the president?” He said in an interview with the American RNC radio station a former official who asked to maintain anonymity. “Everyone has their own price, but I don't think they are in a hurry to help Elon in continuing the Republican Party before the supplementary elections.”
