Just over 30 kilometers from the hotel where the “tricolors” are accommodated for the essential match in order to qualify for the North American World Cup, He lived Călin Georgescu, a former independent candidate for the presidential elections. He lived in the lower Austria region between 2011 and 2021. After being in Modling and Alland, also in Austria, he settled in Gunselsdorf, Baden district, from 2017 to 2021, when he returned to the country.

Gunselsdorf, a tiny locality in the lower Austria. Just over a thousand souls populate it. The first thing that attracts attention is the tranquility. Without horns, without haste, only a few rare steps on the sidewalks and weak bicycle buzz. A strange atmosphere: a man who trimms the grass, another who wanders a house, without too much activity, although all eyes were held in the car with foreign numbers that transit the Austrian region.

There is only one supermarket, on the outskirts of the city: without cramming to the districts or the cash registers. The Trieting River flows unstoppably to the edge of the road, among the willows and freshly cut grass, which fills the atmosphere of a fresh odor. In the center of the city, the town hall, a few shops, a bakery and two cafes with tables outside.

The buildings are simple, with clean facades, without extravagance. Everything seems well maintained. It draws the attention of a huge block in the middle of the town, which seems not to be the same landscape. A primary school, a secondary school, a car representation (where most cars were Dacia). Physical and spiritual well -being are provided by a flirty Catholic church and a dispensary, several hundred meters from each other.

Călin Georgescu's former dwelling has a traditional air

Călin Georgescu's former dwelling in Gunselsdorf has a traditional Austrian air with a green tile roofornamental grids on windows and a neat yard, guarded by a wrought iron fence. The main entrance is marked by an elegant door, and the yard is “guarded” by a young spruce, a species of tree common in Central Europe.

To her left, an underground garage with a white door. The house is located on a side street, not far from the main street, the picturesque landscape and the surrounding quiet being strong reasons for which the surprise from last year's presidential elections chose to live here. The residence was purchased for 530,000 euros in 2017, being sold for 599,000 euros in 2021, at which time Georgescu returned to Romania.

Just a few minutes away from their place of residence, Cristela Georgescu had a natural medicine office.

Located near Schonau Castle, near Baden (20 min. By car) and Vienna (40 min. By car), in a unique, discreet and charming location, my cabinet is a stop to the journey to the “home of the heart”, a space that allows disconnection, energization and empowerment.

The services offered here also have rates on the site: powers (training for cellular regeneration and healthy lifestyle) – 75 euros, organic procedures (explanatory discussion and bioresonance procedures for evaluating and activating the capacity of self -healing and regeneration of the body) – 85 euros, lymphatic iridology (evaluation of the body's state by detailed iris) – 250 euros).

On the door of the building was once a plaque with its name, which is no longer present today, but the traces left by it are still visible.

“The activity at the office is resumed only in freedom, after/if the measures and restrictions under the pretext of C19 are raised and which have been declared illegal by the Constitutional Court of Austria,” writes Cristela Georgescu on his own site, a sign that the Covid-19 Pandemic was a serious hindrance to the activity. This no longer teaches since 2021the same year in which the Georgescu spouses returned to the country.

During the period spent in Austria, Georgescu held positions as president of the European Research Center in Rome and executive director of the UN Institute for the Global Sustainability Index. However, the Austrian press noted that its activities during this period are largely unknown, and the exact sources of its income remain unclear.

Near the town of Gunselsdorf there is a private aerodrome, operated on and managed by a club of aeromodellism fans, which is also used for private flights, by those who want to have quick access to the Vienna capital. In fact, most of those who live in Gunselsdorf have jobs or daily activities in Vienna, the locality being well interconnected with the city through public transport networks.

In an interview with 2019, Călin Georgescu complained about the quality of food in Austria: “The Romanians were organized very well and periodically brought transport from Romania, especially from the border area: Baia Mare, Satu Mare, so we always had Romanian products and we managed to overcome an episode that was not at all simple.

To constantly eat products from abroad, even if it bears the same name, tomatoes, cucumbers or cauliflower, it is not the same. The difference in taste is great. Thus, we managed to overcome the handicap of the situation in which we were forced to consume food from the West. ”

About life in Austria this said the following: “It is a beautiful country, beyond its natural resources. It is a disciplined country, and when there is discipline, people live well.”
