This post appeared after a high -ranking White House official CNBC said earlier on Monday that Trump and XI would probably talk this week.
Both countries blamed each other for a violation of a commercial agreement achieved in Switzerland on May 12. The agreement provided for a 90-day suspension of most duties, as well as a wide repeal of remedies imposed from the beginning of April.

Dog-china's impasse
Contrary to Washington's expectations, China did not significantly relieve the restrictions on the export of rare lands. Beijing also criticized the United States for continuing efforts to limit China's access to advanced technologies. Last week, Trump's administration also announced that he would start withdrawing visas for Chinese students.
The Secretary of the US Treasury Scott Bessent described commercial talks on Friday as “slightly stuck in a deadline” and said that the leaders of both countries would probably have to take part in them.

Trump and XI talked for the last time in January, just before the US President was sworn in for the second term. While Trump said in recent weeks that he would like to talk to XI, analysts expect China to agree only if there is certainly that there will be no surprises from the US during the conversation.
