Investors Turn to Astrology as a New Trend in Wealth Building

Astrology is becoming a focal point for investors looking to capitalize on human emotions, as discussed during a recent gathering in New York City. Attendees noted that amidst widespread anxiety, opportunities arise from people’s hopes and fears. This trend highlights astrology’s growing influence on wealth generation.
The event took place the day after the autumn equinox, hosted on a rooftop deck overlooking Manhattan. Guests engaged in tarot card readings aimed at their romantic prospects, marking the launch of the astrology-focused app Lora, created by Michelle Parsons, an entrepreneur backed by AlleyCorp.
This intersection of astrology and venture capital has gained traction, particularly as the popular astrology app Co-Star was acquired by AI company Midjourney, stirring interest in AI’s role within the astrology market. Investors are curious whether AI applications can revolutionize this niche.
Luc Ryan-Schreiber, an investor at AlleyCorp, emphasized the potential for interactivity within astrology, buoyed by advancements in AI. The Lora app allows users to engage with an AI chatbot for personal development and relationship advice based on their astrological charts.
While numerous astrology apps exist, Lora distinguishes itself by focusing on personal insights, steering clear of superficial or overly flattering advice typical of many applications. Instead, it encourages users to recognize patterns in their lives.
The event also featured real astrologers and coaches accessible through the app, such as Anne Benveniste, who offered tarot readings. Through her insights, attendees learned that “suffering is the price of love,” a poignant message resonating with many present.
As the evening unfolded, guests shared their zodiac signs, revealing common interests and fostering connections. The atmosphere was enriched with astrology-themed cocktails served at the open bar, enhancing the celebratory spirit.
Industry professionals mingled with astrologers, discussing the merging worlds of technology and astrology. Zehra Naqvi, a former VC investor and now entrepreneur, shared how she used zodiac signs as conversation starters with startup founders, noting a distinctly different vibe compared to typical venture capital events.
Attendees expressed curiosity about various astrological tools and their applications in modern contexts. Mia Cooper, a participant from the tech sector, sought clarity about her career path, highlighting astrology’s role in providing guidance during uncertain times.
Benveniste concluded by emphasizing the importance of creating space to process difficult experiences and hear one’s inner compass, a sentiment echoing throughout the evening as individuals sought direction through astrology.
